From Thursday 14 May to Saturday 16 May, the first edition of VLOED, a new annual festival, will take place in Zandvoort. Enjoy art, music, theater, and dance for three days during Ascension Day weekend at indoor and outdoor venues. VLOED brings captivating stories to life at iconic locations in the village and dunes of Zandvoort. The festival’s heart, in the town centre, will be bustling with a free daily programme that starts with the performance Parade by Neo-fanfare 9×13, which will also tour the summer festivals. There are also various walking and cycling routes with cultural pit stops, including a Nature Route with location-based projects by theatre artists DeJong&DeWitte, a Bunker Route with dance performances by De Dutch Don’t Dance Division, and a Photography Route with a workshop by photographer Jeroen Swolfs. There’s a special Kids’ Route, and in the evenings, VLOED presents dance and music performances at various locations, such as the Dorpskerk church, the lifeguard station, and Theater De Krocht.
