Tasty news from Leiden

Early September, Café Visscher opened at Stationsweg 7 in Leiden and since then the business has rapidly become the neighbourhood favorite for gourmets from Leiden and the surrounding area. And rightly so. The chef/co-owner is Arie Visscher (36), from Rotterdam, who, after learning in the star kitchens of De Librije in Zwolle and Joelia by Mario Ridder, decided to take a completely different approach. Not in terms of taste and quality, because due to his training and desire for perfection, scaling down is not an option for Arie in that area, but in terms of atmosphere and accessibility.

Therefore, Café Visscher is welcoming, the prices are certainly reasonable and the atmosphere is that of the bustling bistros in Paris. Whether you visit for a glass of wine and steak frites at the bar, for a lunch with oysters and champagne or an extensive à la carte dinner: Visscher is a place where you can just as easily meet up with friends as have a business lunch or a romantic date, because you are always in the right place.

Also in a literal sense, because Too Many Agencies, with a bold nod to the Paris of the Moulin Rouge, has created a spectacular theatrical restaurant where guests can enjoy the wines, food and the cosmopolitan setting without any worries. Fancy truffles, caviar and champagne? Pas de problème! But even without add-ons, Arie serves tasty dishes that will make you happy; the reasonably priced, delicious wines and super attentive service will take care of the rest.

All in all, enough reason to visit Leiden again.
