Meet Cherene Kruger, Owner and Founder of Homes for Expats
In 2014, Cherene relocated to the Netherlands with her husband and two children. With a strong background in real estate and administration, she brought valuable expertise from her work in property development in South Africa. As a makelaar and founder of Homes for Expats, Cherene has gained extensive experience helping people buy, rent, and sell homes across the Netherlands. A people person at heart, Cherene is passionate about helping people find homes they love. “When your job doesn’t feel like work anymore, and you absolutely love what you do, then you know you have found your passion. For me, that passion is helping people find a place they can truly call home.”

Homes for Expats began as a passion project inspired by Cherene’s own journey. Relocating to a new country is no small feat. The uncertainty, cultural differences, and logistical challenges can feel overwhelming. This is why Homes for Expats was created, to provide guidance, support, and expertise from a team that truly understands the expat experience, because we have lived it too.
Today, Homes for Expats is a team of eight property specialists, all women, all expats, covering most of the Netherlands. Each member brings unique insights and a shared passion for helping others find a place to call home. Helping you isn’t just our job, it is our passion.
