Madame Saigon in Rotterdam

Since March, Schiedamse Vest 56, a side street of Rotterdam’s lively Witte de Withstraat, has been serving authentic Vietnamese dishes, Saigon Shots and cocktails with an Asian kick. The non-alcoholic offerings also beckon with Lemongrass Ice Tea, Sugar Cane Juice and the What a Melon mocktail. On the menu of this well-oiled family-run restaurant with private dining you will find traditional dishes prepared according to well-kept family recipes. From bites to papaya salads, fresh rolls, the unmissable banh xeo (a Vietnamese filled pancake), five versions of pho, all kinds of Bun Bowls and delicious rice dishes, all prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients. There are plenty of vegetarian options too. If you feel a bit overwhelmed by all that’s on offer: the signature dishes are indicated by an asterisk in the menu. The interior, which is just as colourful as the dishes on the plates, the nice relaxed buzz, the flawless service and – last but certainly not least – the Madame Special and the Vietnamese coffee make sure you leave happy. Open from Tuesday to Sunday for lunch, drinks and dinner.
