The 10e edition a festive edition

The 10e edition of Art The Hague will take place in The Hague from the 4th to the 8th of October 2023. Art The Hague will surprise art lovers as well as collectors in 2023 with works by top international artists. With a strong selection of 48 galleries, the regular ‘line up’ of Art of The Hague is noteworthy, with both young and renowned galleries from the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. Many coming to the fair and Netherlands for the first time this year. Newcomers include the German gallery Rubrecht Contemporary, MPV Gallery, KochxBos, Neck of The Woods, Blackspace Contemporary from Barcelona and the famous Slovak Gallery Zahorian&Van Espen and. Renowned galleries like Francis Boeske Projects, Livingstone Gallery, Chabot Fine Art/ASAP, NL=Us art,  Art Gallery O-68 and Project 2.0 also present their international artists.

An important theme this year is Pure Talent and talent scouting in the art world. With special attention to talents (young & old), the fair wants to make a positive contribution to a better art climate in the Netherlands. With a fun and interesting program, Art The Hague makes art accessible to everyone. The fringe program of Art The Hague includes a symposium about Talent Scouting and the comparison with the sports world, a special exhibition of young talent of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague, a VIP program for art collectors, a book reading by Joris Escher: Becoming Escher, an art lecture by our icon of 2023 Sarah Maple and the Art Party on the occasion of “Art The Hague’s birthday” on Saturday 7 October. As our guests of Art The Hague are used to, off course we have a festive opening every year at Wednesday the 4th of October. The fair will be officially opened by a special guest.

The artist of Art The Hague 2023 is Sarah Maple. The artist will be presented by the international gallery KochxBos. Sarah Maple’s (UK, 1985) works can be found in collections like Soho House, the Ned and the Hyman Collection. Her recent commissions include The Baltic, New Art Exchange and Sky Arts. Maple is known from various BBC, Sky Channel and Channel 4 broadcasting as well as from her VPRO documentary. Her artwork, film and performances have been exhibited internationally at galleries and institutions including Tate Britain, Golden Thread Gallery and Tallin Art Hall.  And she recently was on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. Sarah Maple is an award winning visual artist known for her bold, brave, mischievous and occasionally controversial artworks that challenge notions of identity, religion and the status quo. Much of Maple’s inspiration originates from her mixed religious and cultural upbringing. You can of course see the work of Sarah Maple in the special (solo) booth of KochxBos.

On Saturday 7 October Sarah Maple is personally present at our fair and will give a lecture to a selected audience. Do you want to be here? Register by sending an email to info@artthehague.nl  (reference lecture Sarah Oct 7 from 4 – 5 pm)
