In the Netherlands, people still live in the Stone Age. While durable wood is the standard for housing construction in the Alps, Scandinavia and North America, Dutch homes consist mostly of concrete and brick. Groupe Dunoyer is changing this with luxury, environmentally friendly designs. This spring, the French wood specialist will enter the Dutch market with two exclusive brands: IZO and AXE&D.
Forget the idea of wooden houses being associated with old-fashioned winter sports chalets. Groupe Dunoyer’s designs are a far cry from this image. Hallmarks of these designs are light and luxury; the houses are constructed half of glass, so you really get the outdoors indoors. With this light design, you move comfortably through the seasons, while the stylish use of wood ensures a healthy indoor climate.
The IZO brand from Groupe Dunoyer consists of five modern architectural lines with houses having floor space from 90 to 250 m2. Perhaps you prefer an ultra large kitchen, deep fitted cabinets or an attractive home office or studio as an extension? All houses are customizable. While timber-frame construction is still in its infancy in the Netherlands, the sale of IZO houses in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany has been very successful. It makes sense when you see how each house, through its light design with large windows, blends effortlessly with its natural surroundings.
This brand also bases its projects on timber-frame construction, but the entire design is custom-made. The ceilings are usually higher, the finishing is even more luxurious. The architect and the buyer work out the design together, with all the rooms being made to measure. Do you want five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom? Perhaps you want a library or maybe a home cinema? Everything is possible, which makes the house personalized in every detail and tailored to your every wish.
Entering the Dutch construction market is a logical step for Groupe Dunoyer. Timber construction is a growing market due to the increasing importance of sustainability for homeowners. After a thorough market analysis, it was shown that Dutch areas with a clear view of verdant land and open water are ideal for the magnificent designs.
Because the wooden modules are tailor-made in the state-of-the-art factory in France, the construction process is much faster than in regular construction. A select group of Dutch architects and local craftsmen transform the wooden elements into a dream house. And because each of the desired details is worked out, down to the last millimetre, beforehand, expensive improvisations rarely occur.
